Anu is “a-new” postdoctoral researcher joining our lab. She received her B.S. in Zoology and M.S. in Biotechnology in India, followed by a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a graduate student in the Sanfilippo lab, she used microfluidics to understand how physical and chemical factors combine to impact bacterial behavior in host-relevant environments. Anu is interested in applying her interdisciplinary training to understand how bacteria colonize, survive, and adapt in the human lung, with the broader goal of learning about bacterial life in the human host.
